Mrs. Emma Mae Daniels McAllister was born April 4, 1930 in Pamplico, South Carolina, the daughter of Henry and Emma Grant Daniels. She was called to rest peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Emma received her education in the public schools of Florence County. She was employed and retired after many years of service at Commander Nursing Home in Florence, South Carolina. At an early age, she became a member of Mount Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Pamplico. She served as a member of the Senior Usher Board and Missionary Society until her health failed. Emma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. As hobbies, she enjoyed canning and gardening. Emma was joined in holy matrimony to Keith McAllister in September 1947. To this union eight children were born. Two preceded her in death, Keith McAllister, Jr. and Carol Ellerbe. In addition to her parents, husband and two children, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bernard McAllister; four brothers: George, Floyd, Nathaniel, and Wilma Daniels; and six sisters: Lillian, Birdie, Bessie, Mattie, Christabel, and Mildred. Left to cherish her precious memories are: her children, Christabel McAllister of the home; Judy (Johnny Rae) McQueen of Effingham, SC; Johnny (Janie) McAllister of Lane, SC; Ida Mae McAllister and Willie Douglas McAllister of Effingham, SC; and Terester "Lisa" McAllister of Florence, SC; a grandchild, Courtney McLay reared in the home; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Isaiah and Gladys Myers of Pamplico, SC; a son-in-law, Tommy Ellerbe of Columbia, SC; a daughter-in-law, Janie McAllister of Johnsonville, SC; four sisters-in-law, Pauline Frierson and Rosa Lee Singletary of Effingham, SC; Patricia Brooks and Julia Mae McAllister of Florence, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
